Overview

Cribbage Lab ("the App") is a cribbage training app for iOS. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and your choices.

Data We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. The App does not require an account and does not use any advertising or cross-app tracking frameworks. We collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the App, as described in the Analytics section below.

iCloud Sync

The App uses Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) to sync your game statistics, drill results, and settings across your devices. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is not accessible to us or any third party. You can disable iCloud sync in your device's Settings under iCloud.

Camera Access

The App requests camera access to scan playing cards for hand analysis. Camera images are processed entirely on your device using on-device machine learning. No images or camera data are stored, transmitted, or shared. Camera access is optional and the App functions fully without it.

In-App Purchases

The App offers an optional Pro upgrade through Apple's In-App Purchase system. All purchase transactions are handled by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information.

Local Notifications

With your permission, the App may send local notifications for streak reminders and daily challenges. These are generated entirely on your device. No push notification servers are used.

Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device:

  • Game statistics and Elo rating
  • Drill results and daily puzzle progress
  • Custom AI engine configurations
  • App preferences and settings
  • Purchase status

You can delete all App data by uninstalling the App from your device.

Analytics

The App uses PostHog, a product analytics platform, to collect anonymous usage data. This helps us understand how features are used and where we can improve the App. The data collected includes:

  • App launches and session activity
  • Feature usage (games played, drills completed, screens viewed)
  • Purchase funnel interactions (paywall views, not payment details)
  • Settings preferences

This data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you personally. We do not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, or device identifiers that could identify you. No data is shared with advertisers or sold to third parties.

Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Apple (iCloud, In-App Purchases) — for data sync and payment processing
  • PostHog — for anonymous product analytics (see Analytics section above)

No advertising or cross-app tracking services are used. The App does not participate in any advertising networks and does not require App Tracking Transparency (ATT) authorization.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children. The App contains no user-generated content, social features, or external links beyond this privacy policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
